A moment many of you have been waiting for...the announcement of the first batch of Aquafina selections is here! Aquafina is thrilled with your submissions and saw several that they loved, we're announcing several now with a couple more potential selections pending legal and music rights decisions.

We are only announcing the names of the selected creators, as the videos aren't approved for release just yet, in an effort to get you information as we have it. _{We will likely be able to show all approved videos later this evening or tomorrow}_

Without further ado, the selected creators are:

First Selection:

Brad, Deena & Kai

Embrace the Possibilities

$3,500

_The following selections are in no particular order, as the pending selections will affect rankings, however each will receive compensation as a selected creator:_

Dominic Lahiff

Flavorsplash Fruits

SJK Productions

Fruit Love! xoxo

Congratulations to Brad, Deena & Kai for earning first place with their outstanding work on Embrace the Possibilities, and to each of the teams that have so far been selected. You are all to be commended as the competition was strong for this RFB.

We will update this post as soon as possible with final selections, rankings/earnings, and the videos that were selected.

Thanks to _everyone_ who participated in this RFB, your work is greatly appreciated by everyone here at GeniusRocket & perhaps more importantly by the Brand Managers at Aquafina.

NAFCU

The folks over at NAFCU were completely overwhelmed by the volume of really great submissions, below are their first three selections (more are possible):

Cool! Congrats to everyone!

(I would've submitted an entry (or even started on the SXSW project), but I'm still waiting on 3 RFB clients... DailyLit, Hubspot, and VisualCV.
...DailyLit was over about 2.5 months ago.

*Sigh.

Is anyone else getting a little weary?)

drew on Dec. 16, 2008 says:

No reason to be weary :)
Beau- First, we really appreciate your enthusiasm and community spirit!
Second, you know, perhaps as well as anyone, how diligent we are on moving things along as quickly as we can. We have also maintained a 100% pay out rate for over $150,000 in awards. Please keep in mind that we are not the decision makers, rather we are the facilitators acting on both the client's and the creator's behalf.
DailyLit has struggled to make a selection and is pushing to relaunch again, so we're still working with them (we WILL get resolution, it HAS been too long).
HubSpot is working with 4 creators to polish their submissions. Holidays & campaigns of their own have slowed this process down significantly. This client has paid in full for the RFB so there is no chance of problems.
VisualCV is complete, we have announced the selections and are getting checks out this week.

Thanks!
Drew

Congratulations! Can't wait to see the videos.

I thought first place was supposed to get $3,500?

Correction to first place award...
Kristen is absolutely correct, there was a typo in our spreadsheet. The first place award is $3,500 (the correction has been made above as well).

Thanks for the catch Kristen!

I have to admit, maybe I didn't read the details closely enough - but did anyone else think our hard work would be uploaded and shown on this site regardless if Pepsi thought it was the best one?

I didn't realize that we were taking a chance of it ever being shown online and that the process would be so exceedingly long. Our fault for having people volunteer who want to see their hard work and results.

I feel a little disappointed and wary producing something else if the results and process are so long. Our time and effort and costs associated were worth it if we feel just the general reward of seeing it.

P.S. Who was voting on these if the public didn't see them? Was this completely an internal process?

We are working with the client, Aquafina, daily to get these videos published. We are still hoping to get all of them up by the end of the week. Our normal process is to get every video up as submitted, or in some cases at the end of the RFB once the client verifies that the content is suitable.
We absolutely understand the huge value behind your work being shown, not only to the client, but to your friends and family.

Pepsi, as you can imagine, being a Fortune 500 company is very careful with their brand and this is making for a longer process. We'll keep you posted as things progress.

Great job everybody - CONGRATULATIONS on earning some cash for Christmas!

Dane, I am particularly impressed that you were able to pull it off without using regurgitating vegetables in your ad:)

Keep up the great work!

Wow, I can't believe from watching these credit union ads I truly am thinking differently and realizing it never occurred to me to use a credit union! I am originally from Canada where I feel they are more common, but never thought about it once I moved to the U.S. I'm going to start looking!

Kudos to all three credit union spots. Ranking them must have been really difficult. I'm glad I didn't have to do it. My compliments to all three.

Regarding Aquafina, we are still waiting and curious if we will ever be able to share our video online with those who supported us through the onerous task of making the video. Please advise.

Any Aquafina news this morning?

Zspark on Jan. 26, 2009 says:

Hey GR!
Just noticed the last comment about Aquafina was deleted. Whats up with that? There was nothing wrong about the opinion expressed in the crit. I think a lot of people where thinking about the same thing.
