The Latest Viral Ads

Here at GeniusRocket, we always have our eyes peeled for ads that go viral in a big way.

It's a subject that fascinates us, and we've written quite a bit about why some ads go viral, and others do not. (See Emerging Trends in Viral Video and Questions to Ask When Making Viral Ads for two recent examples.)

But today, we just want to share two viral ads that are hot right now -- for the simple reason that they bring big smiles to our faces.

The first is Heineken's Walk in Fridge ad:

Heineken: Walk-In Fridge _by hourigan_

Although this ad has probably peaked already (nothing lasts forever!), its clever play on gender expectations was a stunning success for Heineken, gathering more than 2.7 million global views in less than three weeks.

The second ad that brings a smile to our face is the T-Mobile Dance:

Flash mobs, apparently, never get old; T-Mobiles' effort has rocketed up the Viral Video Charts, coming in straight at number one with nearly a million views in less than 48 hours.

I thought T-Mobile's video was extremely clever. It's one of those life experiences that makes you think.. "I wish you were here" type of thing and instantly makes you want to grab your cell share it with friends and family. I felt the vibe. Great!
