Here at GeniusRocket, we're always keeping our eyes peeled for video ads that go truly viral.

The big hit of November, it seems, is Toshiba's "Timesculpture" ad.

Released on November 10th, it's already generated nearly half a million views on YouTube:

How was the ad made? Apparently that's a question that many people want an answer to, as this "making of" video on YouTube has been watched by about 1 out of every 4 ad viewers:

Without a doubt, innovation can still find a large audience, even on the these hyper-competitive internets.

(On a related note, check out The Tyee's interesting take on whether viral videos are "the charming, captivating killer of the newsroom" -- a particularly relevant piece as news filters in (no pun intended) of The Tribune's filing for bankruptcy protection today).

The "Making of" video was way more intriguing than the spot itself, which was pretty cool... Great post, you guys. Thanks!

Woo! That's awesome! Same basis behind Trinity's revolving kick in the 1st Matrix.

I am so glad they show you the behind the scenes video. I had a few theory's ... I remember in 1999 when people thought we were nuts for doing a 2K transfer of our entire feature Urban Ground Squirrels and we needed 1.4 TB of info which back then was unheard of. Now 20,000 GB of data - that's nuts!!!
