The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) Services Corporation needed high quality 30-60 second video ads for use on individual credit union websites and on TV. The videos were to be used to build awareness around the benefits of getting a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage at a credit union.

An individual credit union does not typically have the advertising and branding resources of banks and other firms that offer real estate lending. As a result, credit unions often find themselves competing for mind-share. Credit unions did not engage in subprime lending, providing a historic opportunity to gain market share for housing finance.

Result

NAFCU Services Corporation received 29 high quality video submissions over four weeks, spending $6,000 for five video selections: $3,000 for the first selection, $1,500 for the second selection, and $500 each for another three selections. These are the selections from the pool of rough cut submissions. After selection NAFCU worked with the artists to deliver final high quality versions.

NAFCU Services Corp. also provided GeniusRocket’s creative community with follow-up work, which included customizing ads for local federal credit unions. With over 800 credit unions eligible to request basic customization, the creator of a popular NAFCU ad had the opportunity to earn income outside of GeniusRocket.
