The client's request
We are looking for a 45 - 60 second spot that captures the essence of our company and specifically, the Bccthis for Outlook plugin.
For this project we are only looking for a 10 seconds video. We want to work directly with you once you have been selected to create the full video. This way you can show us your ability and the concept prior to having to create the remained of the video.
The product, at its core, allows users to add private messages to group emails. For more information about the product please go to www.bccthis.com and watch the video. We highly recommend downloading the free plugin and trying it out yourself.
We feel strongly that the product lends itself to some very creative scenarios and because we’re introducing new behavior we’d really like to see something that captures both the simplicity of the product along with the idea that adding private messages to group email is second nature and there are some really fun and useful ways to make use of the product.
Project objectives
We will be using this video as a brief, entertaining overview of Bccthis for Outlook. The video may be featured on the homepage of the site, the Bccthis Facebook site and other video distribution channels.
We will also be introducing a contest for users to submit their best / moist entertaining Bccthis stories for the chance to win prizes and would like to use this video as a lead in to this contest as well.
Some background
Bccthis is a Los Angeles based startup enabling new modes of messaging for email and Twitter. For the purposes of this video, we are focusing in on the email product, a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook which allows users to send personalized notes to selected recipients in the To, Cc, or Bcc field.
Bccthis has received positive early reviews from companies like Mashable and LAPTOP Magazine, the latter of which I am including in part below.
FROM LAPTOP MAGAZINE REVIEW
Simple But Brilliant: Bccthis Adds Private Messages to E-mails, Tweets:
Remember how in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Saved By the Bell characters could freeze time for a moment, say something to the camera meant only for us, the viewers, to hear? Yeah, you can’t really get away with that in real life, even if you’re communicating via e-mail or Twitter. Bccthis, a pair of free Outlook and Twitter plug-ins, gives you that kind of power.
This brilliant little app lets you tack on a private, BCC’d message that only some of the recipients of your main message can see. Likewise, with Twitter you can post a tweet to the masses, but then start a private direct messaging chain that will only be visible to select users. The idea is to save you the tedium of composing a public e-mail and a separate aside message, or a tweet followed by a direct message or group e-mail.
I got some early hands-on time with both the Outlook and Twitter apps. Read on to see why this is our most favorite plug-in since Xobni.
