The client's request

In addition to a logo, EIEIO is looking for a _colorful_, _lovable_, and _recognizable_ mascot that, in the future, will be animated for the web. This will be the first character in our "family", our version of Disney's Mickey Mouse, that children will recognize and associate with the EIEIO brand and line of products. This icon, preferably an animal, is one that all children should love and that can be made into plush dolls, and toys of many descriptions. Our goal is to bring music (and all of its educational benefits) front and center, we hope to “let the music lead you”. This tag line is only a draft and we are open to other suggestions.

While we believe animation may be the most appropriate form of submission, to ease later stages of developing the character, we are open to non- animated, traditional illustrations.

Project objectives

The mascot will represent the EIEIO brand and will become one of several characters "brought to life" in books and online games. The other characters will be those found in traditional nursery rhythms, such as a princess, farmer, farm animals, etc. We would like a consistent look to all the characters, so this initial submission could lead to a long-term relationship.

Some background

EIEIO is a new children’s comprehensive learning company that uses traditional musical nursery rhythms to enhance educational advancement. The EIEIO network will have a number of facets, so the main logo “EIEIO” will have a handful of additional descriptive elements, such as: EIEIO tunes, EIEIO toons, EIEIO digital, etc. The logo/text for EIEIO will need to be colorful and bright as our target audience is toddlers, no older than 6-7. The audience is both girls and boys.
