Houston, We have a Question...
Q&A for this creative brief
Dimensions Posted by georgegumpert on 1.05.08
What are the dimensions for the book?
Also, when will the picture of the author become available?
Oh, and clicking the download link for the publisher's emblem brings me to a "Whoops! You can't do that" page
Thanks, and glad to see more Graphic Design RFBs here!
Author's Pic?? Posted by Yeliad on 1.06.08
Got the publisher's emblem but no author's picture. Same question about the dimensions.
Same questions Posted by Daek4 on 1.06.08

Entry Ready To Go But Need Author's Name & Pic
Thanks!
comment by Drew Posted by Drew on 1.07.08
Gang- Sorry about the delay, I got this RFB posted early to allow people to begin thinking and will get everything finalized between now and Thursday. (I'm in N.O for the NCAA National Championship.)
The dimensions are 6X9. The author's name is Nanette Van Wyk, and I'm still working to get the Creative Elements up and functioning. The author's pictures are on Green Screen so they should be easy to design around.
Stand-by for elements.

This might sound silly... Posted by jhbmw007 on 1.08.08
...but who's "they"?
Dimensions Posted by mlathrom on 1.09.08
How big is the spine of the book?
Also... Posted by .pspblink on 1.10.08
Width of the spine depends on the number of pages, and paper used.
Is this a paperback or hardcover?
What are the publishers requirements on bleed space?
Specifics Posted by Drew on 1.10.08
Gang- The author will be self publishing the book, so at this point work with the information on hand and upon selecting a design they will work with the creator on the final touches necessary to go to print.

Drew, there's no PHOTOS pool at the Perfect Credit Flickr site Posted by Yeliad on 1.11.08
Drew, there's no PHOTOS pool at the Perfect Credit Flickr site or I couldn't find .
Is it there? Or am I an idiot? Answer the last question first.
A little comedy.
Photo Pool Posted by Drew on 1.11.08
You must be signed in, and a member of the group (it's public), then just click pool, there is a link on that page telling you how to upload images. (There is a link under Guidelines showing you how to submit as well).
simple questions!! Posted by Daek4 on 1.14.08
So i guess there is no limit of how many cover design we can submit and post on flicker right?.. we don't have to launch it in genious rocket lauch button? also.. the spine dimentions hasn't been decided yet so we can make it up for now?
Simple Answers... Posted by Drew on 1.14.08
There is absolutely no limit, post away, do not launch on GeniusRocket (only post to Flickr), and yes just guestimate the spine for now, more exact work will be done with the selected entry.
one more simple question. Posted by Daek4 on 1.14.08
so ... do we make up our own testimonials?
Testimonials Posted by Drew on 1.14.08
You don't have to make them up, but you could...otherwise you can throw in the typical latin para's to hold the space.
sorry one more queston .. thanks Drew Posted by Daek4 on 1.15.08

actual dimensions Posted by carlhuber on 1.17.08
What is the width of the spine? Is there an interior flap? I'm guessing a dieline is out of the question but width of the spine would be nice.
nevermind Posted by carlhuber on 1.17.08
Just saw the comment on the spine not being determined yet. My bad.
Any update? Posted by Yeliad on 2.04.08

Perfect Credit Book Cover M.I.A. Posted by Yeliad on 3.05.08
Perfect Credit book covers have disappeared from the Flickr group except for 2 people. Any idea why? And what do we do now?

I just looked at the group page and everything is stil there. Maybe you looked it up from an account that is not a group member. In this case only the submissions marked "public" show up...
Perfect Credit Posted by Drew on 3.05.08
Everything is visible to admin, many submitters made submissions private. While the decision is taking time it is still being made and we will contact the selected creators and post a blog on selections ASAP. It appears we will have a decision by the end of next week at the latest.
Thanks for your patience!
Very cool! Posted by carlhuber on 3.11.08

What happens if Posted by lgabriel on 4.17.08
What happens if the client backs out? They seems to be really dragging their feet about picking a winner. Does QR have a contract with them?
Submission selection Posted by Drew on 4.17.08
I know that this one has taken a VERY long time, and I do apologize. The client is actually testing many of the covers via online polls and focus groups. We are, at this point, applying more pressure to finalize the process. Again, I'm sorry this has been such a long process. As I'm sure many of you know from participation in other RFBs, we work diligently to make things happen in a timely manner.
Thanks!
Drew

Update Posted by mlathrom on 9.29.08
Is there any update on the contest? It will be a year in January.
@ Update Posted by Drew on 9.29.08
If we haven't received a selection from the company by close of business tomorrow we will form a panel here at GeniusRocket to make a selection on Wednesday. We will then cover the award ourselves.
Thanks!
Perfect Credit Selection.... Posted by Drew on 10.15.08
We have a selection! It was made almost two weeks ago, but we needed to hear back from the creator before posting his work. The selection can be seen on our blog at: http://geniusrocket.com/blog/2008/10/15/perfect-credit-mervis-selections...
Thanks to everyone for your participation and patience!
